Competition rules

Certain types of agreements, such as information exchanges, purchasing agreements, agreements on commercialisation and standardisation agreements are indispensible to the functioning of groups of independent retailers. They have many pro-competitive effects, which undoubtedly benefit consumers. We aim to provide maximum flexibility in competition rules to enable networks of independent retailers to function efficiently.

This is particularly the case in the e-commerce market where our members need to be able to set up centralised webshops. In the offline world, we support the existing rules on selective distribution systems as well as the current legal framework on franchising which create the right balance on rights and obligation between the users of such systems.
